Our experts
Holly Prescott is a trained career guidance practitioner with 10 years’ experience working with doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. She is also the creator of Post-Gradual: The PhD Careers Blog, which has attracted over 62,000 readers from over 150 different countries since 2021. She focuses on helping PhD students and early career researchers with the next steps in their professional lives.
Matthew Betts spent 17 years in academic research, specializing in neuropharmacology and clinical neuroscience. Before that, he was a Principal Investigator at Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg. In addition, he has co-founded and advised multiple health-tech startups. Matt has built a strong community on LinkedIn, where he shares insights on academic and non-academic careers, as well as personal development. In 2024, he founded MJB Consulting, where he has already guided over 80 PhDs and postdocs through career pivots.
