EP-PreAmp: Solution to measure physiological signals like Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABRs) or Nerve Conducting Velocity

The EP-PreAmp is a low-level noise bipolar amplifier to measure extremely small physiological signals, such as Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABRs) or Nerve Conducting Velocity. It can be used in combination with all amplifiers of the actiCHamp family (supports up to 16 EP-PreAmps).

The EP-PreAmp amplifies the signals with low levels of noise, thus improving the signal-to-noise ratio. It enables measurements to be carried out without references and provides low-noise signals over a bandwidth of 0.1 Hz through 3,000 Hz. It has three connections for passive electrodes (minus, plus and ground). The signal from the ground is used as the reference signal for the EP-PreAmp and for the AD converter of the amplifier.

Please note:
→ The EP-PreAmp has a gain factor of 50.

→ Each PreAmp occupies two channels on the actiCHamp (Plus) amplifier.

When and why is the EP-PreAmp needed?

It can be used virtually for any scientific application benefiting from simultaneous measurement of EEG & (up to 16) bipolar signals carried out with a low-level noise pre-amplifier. ExG measurements for applications including EMG and ECG mapping, nerve conductive studies, somatosensory evoked potentials, visual evoked potentials, acoustic brainstem potentials, etc. are just some of the investigations that could be carried out with the EP-PreAmp.
