Register today to master EEG recording with effective trigger codes

Registration is now open for the Brain Products Academy webinar Design effective trigger codes for your EEG study taking place on October 23, 2025!

For many EEG studies, adding information about events (such as stimulus onsets, and responses) to the EEG recording is crucial. A powerful approach to record events as they occur is by using hardware triggers. In this free webinar, you'll learn how to enhance the accuracy and reliability of your EEG research by mastering the use of  hardware triggers for multi-event recordings. Our experts will help you develop a structured approach to integrating event markers—such as stimulus onsets and participant responses—into your EEG data using BrainVision Recorder software.

How to register

For your convenience we are offering two different time slots for this webinar. Please note that the content of each time slot is the same. All times refer to Central European Summer Time (CEST) zone.

  • Time slot 1: Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM
  • Time slot 2: Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM

Please make sure to check your time difference to CEST before signing up for one of the time slots.

Why accurate event recording matters in EEG studies

Adding one event to your EEG data with a trigger can be easy. But capturing all relevant events — across dozens or even hundreds per session — can appear challenging. Events may vary in type, originate from multiple devices, and follow different orderings between sessions and across participants. Inaccurate, ambiguous and incomplete event logging can lead to costly errors in data analysis.

What you'll learn in this webinar

Whether you're new to EEG or a seasoned researcher, this session will equip you with essential skills to streamline your study setup and improve data integrity. We will show you how recording ALL relevant events accurately can be made easy by designing suitable trigger codes. Topics include:

  • Understanding events, event markers, and hardware triggers
  • How events are coded into triggers, and triggers decoded into event markers
  • Designing effective trigger codes for complex studies

Hands-on training: Tools and techniques

During the hands-on session you'll gain practical experience with:

  • Creating a trigger plan tailored to your study
  • Applying the one-to-one criterion for selecting trigger codes
  • Using the trigger2marker tool to optimize BrainVision Recorder settings
