Over the course of our time spent in the neurophysiology research market, we at Brain Products have endeavored to listen very carefully to our customers’ views and requests. The BrainCaps are a result of this policy. They have been on the market for more than 15 years, and – because they are constantly further developed – are still considered as one of the go-to solutions for high-quality EEG data recordings with passive, gel-based electrodes.

  • BrainCaps are fully customizable caps with up to 256 channels and high-quality Ag/AgCl sensors.
  • Electrodes are fixed to the cap and extremely flat which makes this cap very comfortable for the participant (e.g. avoiding excessive pressure onto the scalp, even in sleep studies during which the participant lies on the electrodes.).
  • Specially designed electrodes for the co-registration of EEG with fMRI (BrainCap MR), TMS (BrainCap TMS) and MEG (BrainCap MEG) are available (see “Available options” for more details).
  • BrainCaps are extremely robust, as well as easy and fast to clean.
BrainCap Standard
    • Electrode cap with built-in passive Multitrodes that have sintered Ag/AgCl sensors and a large central opening.
    • Compatible amplifier families: actiCHamp, BrainAmp
    • Available channel counts: 22 – 256
    • Size range: 34 – 64 cm head circumference (limited size range may apply to higher channel counts)
BrainCap TMS for EEG-TMS co-registrations
    • Electrode cap with built-in passive Multitrodes that have sintered Ag/AgCl sensors and a large central opening.
    • Every electrode can be freely rotated, thus always allowing the best cable geometry for any stimulation point, a crucial feature for successful EEG recordings during TMS stimulation. In fact, it has been proved that a cleaner signal can be recorded by orienting the cables away from the coil.
    • A special version particularly suitable for working with a large number of channels or with an identical TMS stimulation point is also available upon request.
    • Compatible amplifier families: actiCHamp, BrainAmp
    • Available channel counts: 32 – 256
    • Size range: 34 – 64 cm head circumference (limited size range may apply to higher channel counts)
BrainCap MEG for EEG-MEG co-registrations
