STE compact for LiveAmp : Enhance your mobile EEG measurements
STE stands for Sensor and Trigger Extension. Combining the LiveAmp with the STE compact makes it possible to add additional physiological signals to your mobile EEG research. All of this, thanks to the internal memory of the LiveAmp amplifier, is completely independent from a recording computer.
The additional inclusion of sensor signals into your mobile EEG research with the LiveAmp is as easy and flawless as 1, 2, 3. Just connect the STE compact to the LiveAmp from one side. Thanks to the included belt clip, you can easily connect the STE compact to the subject or the LiveAmp Mobility Set.
Sensors
The STE compact has six auxiliary (AUX) sensor inputs. These can be used for attaching a Photo Sensor for stimulus presentation timing from a display, a Force Sensor for heel strike detection, a Respiration Belt, or a GSR Sensor to name just a few. All Brain Products sensors currently on the market are compatible with the STE compact.
In addition to the AUX inputs, there is a dedicated digital input to connect a Pulse Oximetry Sensor, which allows you to record SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation), HR (heart rate), PPG (photoplethysmogram).
Triggering
STE compact comes with a built-in Wireless Trigger Receiver, ready to be paired with its transmitter counterpart. Our Wireless Trigger solution offers reliable (+/- 1 sample), low latency (~2.5 ms) trigger transmission across 10 m distance.
Note: Wireless Trigger allows you to connect one Trigger Transmitter (trigger source) to several (up to 5) Trigger Receivers/STE compacts for hyperscanning setups.
A wired 8-bit trigger connection is also possible by means of a 9-pin D-Sub connector.
Power supply
STE compact comes with internal, exchangeable standard AA batteries, with which it can run for up to 10 hours. When every gram counts, the STE compact can be powered by the connected LiveAmp only. You can even exchange batteries while recording (“hot swapping”) and continue without interruption. For longer and less-supervised measurements, the operation time can be extended via an additional power bank.
