What is a BVEF file?
What is a BVEF file?
A USB flash drive containing the “BrainVision Electrode File(s) (BVEF)” may be delivered with your electrode cap.
When using BrainVision Recorder 1.20.0506 or higher you can import the .bvef file directly into the Recorder software while editing or creating a workspace.
What are BVEF files for?
- The .bvef file includes the electrode name as well as their physical channel order for your particular cap montage. Thus, it is not necessary to enter this information manually.
- The associated electrode locations are visualized on the map in impedance check mode: the electrodes are placed in the 2D topographical position.
- The imported electrode positions will be written to the dataset’s header file, so an offline evaluation tool such as BrainVision Analyzer 2 can recognize and import the correct locations automatically together with the data.
For more information and detailed instructions, please see the BrainVision Recorder User Manual, which is available in the Downloads section.
